Adobe to acquire Macromedia
Probably one of the most exciting news for graphic designers and web developers in years (or maybe not). Adobe is to acquire Macromedia for an estimated amount of US$3.4 Billion.
No doubt that all professional web designers/developer would be more than familiar with this brand and the fact that the two will become one eliminates the need to buy seperate software from two different vendors.
However on the other it's going to be interesting how this plays out. I use software from both companies for different tasks that suited me. I use Fireworks for quick web layout draft instead of Photoshop, Illustrator for artworks rather than Freehand, and Dreamweaver for HTML authoring instead of GoLive.

The combination of Adobe and Macromedia strengthens our mission of helping people and organizations communicate better. Through the combination of our powerful development, authoring and collaboration tool
