Back to Palm OS?
My Pocket PC stuffed up again. I uninstalled a software using PPC remove programs and although it disappeared from the program list, but deep down in the settings there're still some preferences for that particular software. Being curious, I went into the settings and check it out. I didn't change anything and immediately get out of there. The PPC window only offered me the 'ok' button without any 'cancel' button.
When I tapped the 'ok' obviously it did some computing and upon completion took me to the Today Screen. To my horror my Today Screen looked awkward and I can't access my programs! If I go to my programs folder, there's nothing in it. However if I tap a calendar item from the today screen i can view my calendar as per normal. It seems like whatever it did wiped out all shortcut reference.
Another strange thing is that my memory increase dramatically from 3MB left to 40MB left!!! This doesn't make any sense as I can still access my data (although a bit tricky).
I guess this is going to be my third hard reset in 2 months. Treo 650 looks like a nice alternative but I'm just not into thumbpad. If only palm releases a pda phone that doesn't have aerial and with similar form factor as XDA mini.
Using two platform to do my day to day task I still think Palm OS provides an easier user interface without the 'surprise' elements. Yes Palm OS crashes, but a simple reset solved the problem and on most occasions problem with one software doesn't affect other software or even the OS.
