Happy Birthday Hans

Last nite our bible study group had a steamboat party at my place to celebrate Hans' Birthday. His birthday was last week but that didn't stop us from having great fellowship and fun!

Apart from the normal 'eat now - talk later' we are now accustomed to, the whole night was filled with a number of events. While some of us were preparing the ingredients, a few hardcore gamers can't resist the temptation of PS2 in my lounge. They were quite well prepared and even bring their own controllers. I won't name names but you know who you are :-)

While others were enjoying the steambot, I was forced to fiddle around with my wireless router since other laptops had difficulties to connect to my network (too much restriction I guess). What does laptops have to do with steamboat you say?? The plan was to have a little trivia game using these laptops rite after dinner. I finally got them working and start enjoying the steamboat. It was yummy!

The trivia game was fun! We formed three groups and each group was given a laptop for finding the answers. After a comfortable lead at the start of the game by a significant margin, K&F team find themselves on a tense situation where Y&J&H team managed to catch up and lead by 15 points. With one question to go (worth 25 pts) either team can still win the game (with the exception of the third team, they're way behind). K&F team managed to answer the question correctly and was awarded with 25 points. K&F team won the game!

Then it's time for more soccer action on PS2 for the boys. Vic provided a liv commentary of the game. He really cracked us up!

After the game it's cake time... It was a very nice cheesecake with almond and honey. Great choice Ken!

Next, we fired up the DVD player and watched a Japanese anime "Steamboy". It's one of the most highly anticipated anime in japan where people lined up overnight in front of the cinema for the premiere. Gorgeous animation and great gadgets design!

It was quite late when the movie finished and everyone was in a "must...go....home....zzz..." mode but we ended up watching a recorded episode of Iron Chef.

It was a long night. But I had a great time. I hope the others did too.
