No ADSL for the weekend??
Australian Broadband News provider Whirlpool reported a very misfortunate situation affecting a majority of Exetel ADSL users.
aaNET - Exetel's wholesale provider, discontinued their purchasing relationship due to unacceptable financial risk policy. This resulted in the disconnection of 4000 Exetel users from the service.
In the mean time, Exetel churned all customers to Telstra. However according to the response posted by an Exetel representative, 982 cannont be transferred and 3208 has already sent to Telstra, but not acknowledged. This means that 3208 Exetel customers might be disconnected from the internet today or tomorrow and have to wait a few days until the situation is resolved.
Knowing that tomorrow is friday this could means that Exetel ADSL customers won't have internet access for the weekend. Maybe now it's time to get out and grab some fresh air rather than sitting in front of computer and living a 'virtual' life.
It will be interesting to come home tonight and see whether I'm part of the 3208 customers or even worse.... the 982 group. aarrgghhh!!!!
Mind you I've been with Exetel for almost a year and this is perhaps the first major issue I experience. I feel sorry for all the customer service rep taking all the phone calls today.

my friend, lisa, was connected to exetel... last weekend, she's disconnected... do you reckon it's because of this ?
